Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson makes history as most-streamed global sporting event ever

The boxing match between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson that was seen on Netflix Friday night made streaming history. On Tuesday, Netflix announced that that fight had over 108 million live global viewers making it the most-streamed global sporting event of all time. It was also announced that the fight between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano is the most-watched professional women’s sports event in US history with an estimated 74 million live viewers globally.
The fight between Paul and Tyson went eight rounds, and Paul won by unanimous decision. It was sanctioned by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation and took place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Tyson, 58, competed in his first professional boxing match since June of 2005 when he lost to Kevin McBride. He now has a 50-7 record.
After the fight, Tyson went to social media to show his appreciation for getting back in the ring. “This is one of those situations when you lost but still won,” Tyson wrote on social media. “I’m grateful for last night. No regrets to get in ring one last time. I almost died in June. Had 8 blood transfusions. Lost half my blood and 25lbs in hospital and had to fight to get healthy to fight so I won.
