Jalen Carter (illness) was a full participant at practice for the Philadelphia Eagles, the team revealed during Thursday’s injury report.

His updated status comes after missing both practice on Wednesday and his media availablility on Thursday. He’s a key piece to the Eagles’ defensive unit, boasting 41 tackles, 6.5 sacks, three forced fumbles and nine pass deflections this season. For his efforts, he was named an AP Second Team All-Pro and a Pro Bowl selection.

Carter was also banged up during the Eagles’ NFC Championship win over the Washington Commanders. After staying on the grass for an extended period, he was checked on by trainers and head coach Nick Sirianni. After Carter went off the field slowly. However, he managed to return to the game after one play.

However, his limited time on the practice field does not appear to be connected to that incident. Instead, it appears he’s coming out on the other side of his illness and his full participation appears to be a positive sign for his status on Sunday.

The last time Carter spoke to the media, he expressed his excitement about playing across Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. He already had a plan in place to stop the three-time Super Bowl-winning QB.

One thing is to sack him,” Carter said with a smile.

Carter can’t get healthy soon enough for the Eagles. On Sunday, they will square off against the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX at 6:30 p.m. ET. The game will air live on FOX.

Troy Aikman predicts Super Bowl LIX winner between Eagles and Chiefs

Troy Aikman has predicted the winner of Super Bowl LIX between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs. On ESPN’s Pardon the Interruption, the former Dallas Cowboys quarterback and current Monday Night Football commentator picked the Chiefs to win their third consecutive Super Bowl.

“I’m like the rest of America, Tony [Kornheiser]. You know, how do you bet against Patrick Mahomes?” Aikman said.” There’s a lot of quarterbacks in the game that just play every possession as if it’s the same, and Patrick Mahomes, like Tom Brady, and like other great quarterbacks before them, they know how to win. And Patrick Mahomes doesn’t care what it may look like.

“He knows that when the game’s on the line that he will find a way and he knows exactly what the formula is. And the formula’s different from one possession to the next or from one game to the next, and he’s proven that obviously as I mentioned with the one-score games and them being able to win all of them. Until proven otherwise, I’m going to stand behind Kansas City and Patrick Mahomes.”
