The Philadelphia Eagles played the closing stretch of their regular season without Jalen Hurts. A concussion kept him out for nearly three games and questions surrounded his status for Sunday’s playoff game against Green Bay. Answers are close to being provided and it should be positive for folks in Philadelphia.

Hurts was a full participant in practice on Thursday. For now, all signs point to him getting out of concussion protocol in the coming days. Nothing has been made official by the team quite yet but Hurts is well on track to start against the Packers.

“Eagles QB Jalen Hurts was a full participant at practice today,” CBS’ Jonathan Jones said via X. “That’s an excellent sign that he is nearing the exit of concussion protocol tomorrow and should start, as expected, against the Packers.”

Kenny Pickett and Tanner McKee both received starts in Hurts’ absence but the Eagles did not miss a beat. Both games resulted in wins, taking down the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants to finish the year with a 14-3 record.

However, there is no doubt about who needs to start in order for the Eagles to make a Super Bowl run. Hurts has been a key figure in the franchise’s offense throughout the years. Getting him back on the field would be a massive boost.

“With the questions swirling around the Eagles quarterback, Jalen Hurts returned to the practice field yesterday, which is a sign that he will be back on the field Sunday to play, barring some unexpected setback,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter said on Thursday. “He’s been in concussion protocol. He remains in concussion protocol.

“But he is expected to start on Sunday, and so both teams have some health questions around their quarterback, how they’ll respond to what they’ve been through in recent weeks. But Jalen Hurts, barring the unexpected, is expected to start for the Eagles.”

Kickoff from Philadelphia is scheduled for Sunday at 4:30 p.m. ET with FOX having the broadcast. More information on where Hurts stands is likely to come on Saturday with a definitive answer being provided on gameday.
