Jalen Hurts injury update: Eagles QB Wednesday status revealed ahead of playoff game vs. Packers
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is one step closer to returning to the lineup and playing in the team’s playoff game against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. Hurts appeared on Wednesday’s injury report and was listed as a limited participant. He missed the final two games of the regular season due to a concussion and a left finger injury.
Hurts returned to the practice field for the first time since suffering the concussion on Dec. 22 against the Washington Commanders. “It was cool to have him out there. It’s always good to have your QB1 back. It was dope,” Eagles offensive lineman Mekhi Becton said, per the team’s official website. “He looked great. He looked like Jalen.”
One thing to note is Hurts has not cleared concussion protocol yet. ESPN analyst and former NFL QB Dan Orvlovsky recently said he had some concerns about Hurts since he has missed a lot of practice time.
“I would be pretty concerned as of right now about Jalen Hurts,” Orvlovsky said on The Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday, per the New York Post. “This is a long time to go without practicing for a quarterback… I’m really interested to see what happens in the next 48 hours.”

Eagles have ‘so much faith’ in Jalen Hurts

The Eagles are not worried about Hurts’ production if he does play on Sunday against the Packers. “We’ve got so much faith in him and the things he can do,” Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni said Monday during his appearance on 94.1 WIP, per ESPN. “This is why you practice the way we practice. Practice is high-intensity. We feel like we have a great practice plan and our guys go about their business in practice very game-like. That’s where you work out your kinks or anything that you have, just being locked in and focused all week. We’ve got a lot of faith in Jalen as he gets ready to play the football game.”
Hurts was a big reason the Eagles finished the season with a 14-3 record and the No. 2 seed in the playoffs. In 15 games, the former Oklahoma Sooners QB threw for 2,903 yards, 18 touchdowns and just five interceptions with a 103.7 passer rating. On the ground, Hurts ran for 630 yards and 14 touchdowns on 150 carries.
