Jalen Hurts injury update: Eagles reveal QB's status on final injury report
The Philadelphia Eagles have taken quarterback Jalen Hurts (knee) off the final injury report and he’s good to go for Sunday’s NFC Championship Game vs. the Washington Commanders, according to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network.
The Philadelphia Eagles received a positive injury update on quarterback Jalen Hurts on Thursday as he was a full participant in practice ahead of Sunday’s NFC Championship Game against the Washington Commanders.
ESPN analyst Dan Graziano shared Friday morning on Get Up what exactly that means for this weekend’s game and how healthy Jalen Hurts might be after suffering a knee injury this past weekend in a win over the Rams.
“So he was a full participant in yesterday’s practice, which is obviously a good sign,” Graziano said. “Now people need to understand, all that means is he took the regular number of reps he would’ve taken in a regular Thursday practice. We don’t know how much he ran. We don’t know how he looked when he was running. All that stuff we’ll probably have to wait until Sunday to know for sure.
“But obviously very encouraging for the Eagles that he was able to be out there and be a full participant yesterday. I do believe he’ll play. I fully expect him to start. Obviously the question is how limited will he be.”
It has been the expectation throughout the week that Jalen Hurts would start against the Commanders, despite being listed as a limited participant for Wednesday’s practice.
Fellow ESPN NFL analyst Bart Scott warned though that in his mind, Jalen Hurts being upgraded to a full participant doesn’t mean much.

“Listen, these are like dress walk-throughs essentially, right? Guys are all banged up. You probably don’t have pads on. There’s no contact. You’re going through your script,” Scott said. “We don’t know if these guys can handle the pounding. They won’t know that until they get into pregame and they kind of bang against each other as we self-scout each other. We don’t know and he won’t know.
“I’m sure they’ll take the pill, or they’ll take the shot. And they’ll try to nullify some of the pain. But when you get live, you get hit on that, you’re going to feel it. It could compromise Jalen Hurts. And if we have a compromised Jalen Hurts then Houston, we have a problem with that explosive run game.”
In addition to Jalen Hurts, the Eagles have a few other players banged up. Star receiver AJ Brown was a full participant in practice, as was cornerback Quinyon Mitchell. Tight end Dallas Goedert and offensive lineman Cam Jurgens both missed Thursday’s practice.
“And two other injuries to watch, Cam Jurgens their center and Dallas Goedert their tight end,” Graziano said. “Neither one of those guys has practiced either of the last two days. So that could affect not just Jalen Hurts but also that run game.”
