ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio gave an update on Philadelphia quarterback Jalen Hurts on Thursday. “He’s definitely a little bit stiff. He’s moving gingerly. We’re not seeing much practice just a little bit of a warm-up,” he noted from Eagles practice.

Paolantonio was very concerned with Hurts and the way he looked at practice on Thursday.

“Let’s start with the newspaper. Your Philadelphia Daily News. There’s the headline. Hurts: ‘I’ll be ready to go.’ That’s what he said yesterday. Now here’s what I saw today at practice. Just a little while ago. They’re still on the practice field, Laura. But I just came from the practice field,” he said.

“Check it out. Here’s the video of him warming up. What I see is a quarterback trying to get ready to go. He’s stretching the left knee. He’s definitely a little bit stiff. He’s moving gingerly. He’s not trying to overdo it. He’s trying to put some pressure on that left knee. Shift his weight. Deliver the football. We’re not seeing much practice. Just a little bit of warmup. But what I’m seeing, Laura, is a guy that’s trying to get himself ready to go. Remember. Hurt with 3:51 left in the third quarter. That left knee. Didn’t do much after that. Only attempted three passes. Hit all three,” Paolantonio explained.

Jalen Hurts’ status is concerning moving forward

“Only one rushing attempt for minus one yard against the Rams after he was hurt. They need him to be much more mobile. Why? Washington has been rushing the passer very well in the postseason. Three sacks. Eight hurries. And I’ll tell ya what, he’s gotta move a lot better than what I saw today,” Paolantonio finished.

The Eagles will play in the NFC Championship game for the second time in three seasons, and Jalen Carter is a big reason for their success this year. The former Georgia Bulldogs star was named to the Pro Bowl and the All-Pro Second Team this season after posting 42 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, six passes defended and two forced fumbles.
