Jalen Hurts injury update: Eagles QB shares worrying update after NFC Divisional win over Rams
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts injured his left knee in the third quarter of Sunday’s 28-22 NFC Divisional Round victory over the Los Angeles Rams.
While Hurts did not miss a snap, he clearly looked compromised from a mobility standpoint for the majority of the second half. Hurts was asked about the severity of his knee injury while speaking with Melissa Stark of NBC Sports.
“I’m sure I’ll get asked about it later,” Hurts said. “I don’t know if I can answer right now, but I’m gonna go and enjoy this win with my teammates.”
Asked if he was OK, Hurts responded, “I finished the game.”
Hurts will surely be asked often about his knee throughout the coming week and for good reason. Next Sunday, the Eagles host the Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship Game with a spot in Super Bowl LIX up for grabs. Hurts’ availability or potential limitations will be one of the main talking points.

The injury occurred as he was sacked by a Rams defender during a scoring drive in the third quarter. Both of his legs got bent in awkward positions and he was visibly limping on a third and 17 where he handed it off to Saquon Barkley. Philadelphia kicked a field goal to go up 16-13. Hurts entered the blue medical tent following the drive but came back in to finish the game.

Playing through the injury and in a snowstorm, Hurts completed 15-of-20 passes for 128 yards. He was sacked seven times. On their first offensive drive of the game, Hurts got loose and ran for a 44-yard score to give the Eagles an early lead.
“Happy about the win,” Hurts said. “Give credit to that defense, to how they played. Got those turnovers. We only got three on one (of the possessions after the turnover). They simulated the snap on our quarterback sneak. So, we found a way to win. That’s all that matters at this time of the year.”
The only thing standing in between the Eagles and a second Super Bowl appearance in three seasons are the Commanders, their NFC East rivals.
“I don’t know if it’ll snow next week, but rain, sleet or snow, Eagles trained to go,” Hurts said. “We’ll be ready to go.”
