Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is representing the Jordan Brand for Super Bowl LIX. Hurts was seen wearing the “Bred” Jordan 1 cleats with the swoosh covered for the big game.
The Air Jordan 1 Retro High ’85 “Bred” is one of the most coveted shoes this year. Hurts is wearing the “Unbannable” player edition cleated version as he’s a Jordan Brand athlete.
“The standard of greatness set by Michael Jordan transcends the basketball court, inspiring a new generation of athletes who refuse to accept limits,” Jordan Brand wrote in a statement emailed to Footwear News. “Hurts embodies this spirit as he takes the field, proving that whether on your feet, cleats or jersey, the Jumpman represents one clear message: Greatness is the expectation.”
Eagles fans are hoping Hurts can lead the Eagles to their second Super Bowl title in franchise history. Two years ago, the Eagles lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII but Hurts had a strong performance, throwing for 304 yards and one touchdown while rushing for 70 yards and three scores.
Patrick Mahomes praises Jalen Hurts ahead of Super Bowl LXI
Ahead of Super Bowl LIX, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was asked why some people doubt Hurts being one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. “I honestly have no idea. It doesn’t make any sense to me,” Mahomes said to CBS Sports on Thursday. “He goes out there and has success every single year it seems like. Whether it’s throwing, running, whatever it is. I honestly don’t know.”

“If you look at his career, that’s all he does is win,” Mahomes added. “That’s what the most important job in the NFL is — it’s to win football games. If he’s asked to make the big plays happen, he makes them happen. I do not understand it.”
Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo knows defending Hurts and the Eagles offense will be challenging. “He just gets better and better,” he said. “He can sit back there and be a pocket quarterback. He can beat you with his legs. He’s become pretty well-rounded. He’s got our attention.”
Hurts finished the 2024 season with 2,903 passing yards, 630 rushing yards and 32 total touchdowns. In his career, the former Oklahoma Sooners star has been named to the Pro Bowl twice and finished second in MVP voting in 2022.
