Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts revealed that he played Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers with a broken ring finger. He said his injured finger impacted him but still led the Eagles to a 27-13 victory.

“It is broken, and it did impact my play,” Hurts said after the game, per Pro Football Talk.

Hurts wore a splinter on his left hand that was covered by a glove. He finished the day with 290 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 45 yards and one score. Ahead of Sunday’s game, Hurts was listed on the Eagles injury report all week but was a full participant at practice.

The performance came after speculation about Hurts’ relationship with wide receiver A.J. Brown. After the win against the Panthers last week, Brown told reporters “passing” was the one thing that needed improvement. In the game, Hurts just threw for 108 yards but did have two touchdown passes. Later in the week, Brown said there were no issues between himself and Hurts.

With the win on Sunday, the Eagles are 12-2 on the season and tied with the Detroit Lions for the best record in the NFC. After the game, Hurts told Fox Sports’ Tom Brady the key to an improved passing game.

“You know how it is playing this game and playing this position. It’s all about finding a rhythm and for all 11 to be on the same page when we go out on there and execute,” Hurts told Brady. “I think we were able to find a good rhythm, a rhythm that we hadn’t found for a long time this year. But that’s what great teams are able to do — win in multiple ways. I think we showed that we can win in this way as well. So, it was a great team win.”

Hurts has emerged as one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL over the last couple of years. He had a breakout year in 2022, throwing for 3,701 yards and 22 touchdowns while rushing for 760 yards and 13 TDs. His success in 2022 led to him finishing second in MVP voting and the Eagles reached the Super Bowl.
