Jalen Ramsey carted to locker room after suffering injury
Some harrowing news is coming out of Miami Dolphins training camp regarding Jalen Ramsey.
According to Adam Beasley of Pro Football Network, Ramsey was carted to the locker room following practice, following a concerning rep during the 11-on-11 portion of practice.
“Miami Dolphins practice is over. The big news: Jalen Ramsey is currently being carted off the field,” tweeted Beasley. “He has an issue with his left leg or knee.
“… It’s unclear how Ramsey got injured. It occurred during an 11 on 11 rep. He came to the sidelines and was immediately evaluated for a good 5-7 minutes by medical staff before the cart came out.”
Alas, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network later claimed Ramsey grabbed his left knee after a rep where he defended Dolphins star wide receiver Tyreek Hill.
“Dolphins CB Jalen Ramsey was carted back into the locker down room after a practice injury,” tweeted Wolfe. “Trainers were attending to his left knee. He grabbed his left knee after defending Tyreek Hill on a pass play. Trainers evaluated him for a bit on the sideline then he hobbled on cart.”
Hopefully Ramsey is alright for the Dolphins’ sake. Miami has big plans for 2023, and the star defensive back is playing a huge role in them. If he has to miss any time, the team could start behind in the race to the playoffs in the AFC.
Ramsey is coming off his sixth consecutive Pro Bowl appearance in 2022 after a career year for the Rams. He totaled a career-high 88 tackles to go with two sacks, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.

Michigan prepared to offer No. 1 recruit $10.5M over 4 years
Before he became an All-Pro cornerback in the NFL, Ramsey starred at Florida State, where he was a two-time first team All-ACC selection and a consensus All-American in 2015. The Jacksonville Jaguars selected him with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft and he spent the first three years of his career there.
In 2019, Jacksonville traded him to the Rams for two first-round picks and a 2021 fourth-round selection.
Despite his huge contract, the Dolphins invested in Ramsey, as they believe he’ll give Miami’s defense a brand new way to stop the AFC East’s highly-touted quarterbacks.
Time will tell if Jalen Ramsey is legitimately injured or just a little banged up and bruised, but the Miami Dolphins will certainly be hoping for the latter moving forward.
