Jalen Tolbert injury update: Jerry Jones reacts to ‘sprained his nuts’ comment
Dallas Cowboys (3-2) wideout Jalen Tolbert fought through some pain to come down with the game-winning touchdown reception in Sunday’s 20-17 Week 5 road victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers (3-2).
After the game, offensive lineman Tyler Smith revealed that Tolbert “sprained his nuts” on the play prior to the 4th and goal score with 20 seconds left in the game.
“Bro, it was miraculous,” Smith said. “I mean, JT literally sprained his fu*king nuts — excuse me, sorry guys — sprained his nuts the play before, comes back, makes the game-winner. Unbelievable.”
Team owner Jerry Jones addressed the uncomfortable injury during his Tuesday appearance on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas. Jones said it’s an injury which can occur at any time and any place.
“I mean, you can do it stepping off the curb … or you can do it at midnight,” Jones said, via Jon Machota of The Athletic.

Jalen Tolbert has career day in Week 5 win over Steelers
With Brandin Cooks out of the lineup, Tolbert had a career day against the Steelers. Tolbert, the third-year pro out of South Alabama, hauled in a team-leading seven receptions for 87 yards on 10 targets.
Tolbert waited years for an opportunity to contribute in a big way. That moment presented itself on Sunday Night Football, and he sure didn’t miss.
“I work hard for this,” Tolbert said after the game. “Obviously, God has given me the talent and ability to be able to continue to work and continue to get better. And so, I give him all the glory for it. I’ve been working for years for this. And waiting on my opportunity, waiting on the time where I would be able to get more offensive snaps or get more targets, whatever it may be.
“Whenever that moment comes, you’ve got to be able to be ready for it. I think that’s something that we emphasized all week.”
