Jalon Walker injury update: Georgia star cancels Pro Day participation due to quad strain

If NFL teams were hoping to get another look at Jalon Walker via the Georgia Pro Day, they will unfortunately have to wait a little longer.
According to ESPN’s Jordan Reid, Walker will not participate in the Pro Day due to a quad strain suffered while training. Plenty of other Georgia prospects will be out there but not Walker, a projected first-round pick. Instead, there will be a private workout just a few days before the 2025 NFL Draft.
“#Georgia EDGE/OLB Jalon Walker will not participate in Pro Day on March 12th because of a quad strain that he suffered during training, sources tell ESPN,” Reid said via X. “Walker will have a private workout for NFL teams on April 17th.”
Walker was in Indianapolis for the NFL Combine but did not participate in the workout portion of the event. He was there to take measurements and meet with teams — still a valuable part of the process, especially for potential first-round guys.
But not participating in the on-field portion means NFL scouts and general managers will not get to see him workout until seven days before the draft.
Even so, Walker has been a popular name throughout the cycle. His stock has risen throughout as Walker pushes to be picked somewhere inside the top 10. Versatility is something teams will love about the Georgia product. Plenty of college snaps were played at inside linebacker but many as now classifying him as an EDGE rusher.

Latest mock draft projects Jalon Walker to Atlanta Falcons
In the latest mock draft from Dane Bruglar of The Athletic, he projected Walker to stay inside the Peach State with the Atlanta Falcons at No. 15 overall. Certainly a move many Georgia fans might be hoping for as there will be some fan crossover.
“I know, I know — the Falcons don’t draft Bulldogs in the first two rounds,” Bruglar said. “But I’ll bet Raheem Morris is very interested in the athletic versatility and intangibles that Walker would bring to Atlanta’s front seven.”
To Bruglar’s point, it’s never happened. No Georgia player has been selected by the Falcons inside the first two rounds in NFL Draft history. Defensive back Scott Woerner is the earliest pick, being a third-rounder at No. 80 overall in 1981.
If Walker were to get a call from Atlanta on April 28, history would be made, and cause for a lot of celebration.
