Deshaun Watson news has major implications for free agent Jameis Winston

The news of Friday’s major Deshaun Watson trade has huge implications for Jameis Winston. The New Orleans Saints are looking to bring back quarterback Jameis Winston. The Saints were believed to be one of the final two teams in the running for former Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson but lost out to a surprise team in the Cleveland Browns. But now that that fiasco is over, New Orleans is looking to bring back James Winston to have another run as their starting quarterback. 

ESPN’s Adam Schefter provided the update shortly after the Watson news broke. 

“ After today’s trade, free-agent QB Jameis Winston now is expected to be back in play for the New Orleans Saints, per sources, “ wrote Schefter via Twitter. 

In his first year with the Saints, Winston sat and learned behind Drew Brees. This past season, Winston got his shot as the Saints starting quarterback. Unfortunately for Winston, he suffered a torn ACL in Week 8 against his former team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
