WATCH: Jamie Foxx provides reasons for optimism at Cowboys practice

The Dallas Cowboys have fans all over the football world, and Jamie Foxx was present at training camp on Tuesday to explain why he’s a fan. The multi-talented star of film, television and music was born in Texas — and showed up at camp to cheer on the team and give his reasons for why this is the Cowboys’ year.
Jamie Foxx hyping up the Cowboys’ season
“We eat, we breath, we sleep, we die Cowboys,” said Foxx to reporters at practice. “So this year, we’re really excited. … We didn’t get it done when we played against the Niners. But at the same time, it’s like having a new coach, COVID and all these other things — it’s sorta like maybe, derailed us in some areas.
“This year man, I saw Dak at a restaurant. Slim, looked good, his jawline, everything looked good. So we just, we got high hopes this year. As I talked to Micah Parsons, he says the game has slowed down for him now. When he first started, he said things were moving fast, but he knows the game now. And he got a different look in his eye because we always say this — ‘Who’s the dog on the team?'”
Although Foxx didn’t have any major inside information to share, his Cowboys fandom is a great thing to see as Dallas gears up for another season. Foxx is certainly on a short list of Dallas fans who can boast an Academy Award, a BAFTA, a Golden Globe and a Grammy.

The two things he does mention, however, are things that are certainly at the forefront of Cowboys fans’ minds. The improved conditioning and shape that Dak Prescott is in as he enters his second year removed from major surgery will likely translate into much more comfort on the field. Entering last season, a training camp throwing arm injury derailed his progress prior to the regular season, but the overall fear of re-injury to his leg kept Dallas fans on edge.
Adding to the reasons Dallas is excited about this season is Micah Parsons preparing for his second NFL season after storming onto the scene as a rookie. To hear Foxx say that Parsons was struggling in any capacity last year as a rookie is incredible, as it sounds like the league hasn’t seen the best Parsons has to offer yet.
