WATCH: Jarran Reed delivers controversial hit to D'Andre Swift's head during tackle

Green Bay Packers defender Jarran Reed drew controversy on Sunday night for a hit he delivered to D’Andre Swift that was to his head. As Swift was being dragged down to the ground by another defender, Reed delivered a forearm shot to his helmet that bent Swift’s head and back the opposite direction of his momentum.

The hit was called a clear hit to the head by NBC rules analyst Terry McAulay during the replay, and the tough hit was compounded by the fact that Swift was injured on the play. Tensions during the game were already high given the playoff implications and rivalry between the Lions and Packers, but the hit specifically led to another player’s ejection as tempers flared with the rest of the players on the field.

Quay Walker of the Packers was pushed aside by a member of the Detroit Lions training staff as they tried to work on Swift, and responded to the contact by shoving the staff member in his back into the other trainers. Walker was flagged for his action and ejected from the game as a result.
The incident wasn’t Walker’s first time shoving a staff member while in the NFL either. Earlier this season, he shoved a member of the Buffalo Bills staff on their sideline and was subsequently ejected for that as well. Shoving players and getting into altercations with opponents is one thing, but having gotten into it with two separate members of two different staffs over his first 17 career games is anything but okay.
