Jason Day looked very comfortable while competing in the final round of a tournament at Pebble Beach on Sunday. Gabby Herzig of The Athletic shared a photo of the golf star wearing a gray Malbon sweater and gray sweatpants while competing at Pebble Beach.

“Jason Day is in a full sweatsuit groutfit at Pebble Beach. Sure,” Herzig wrote on X.

There were plenty of people on social media reacting to the “groutfit.” One person wrote, “Jason Day in a full sweatsuit at Pebble Beach? Sure. Because nothing says ‘I’m here to win a prestigious golf tournament’ like dressing like you just rolled out of bed after a bender. But hey, maybe comfort is the new competitive edge. Or maybe he just lost a bet. Either way, it’s got that ‘I don’t give a f***’ vibe that I can appreciate.”

Another person added, “Looks like he’s filming a scene for a new version of The Longest Yard. ‘This December—12 prisoners will play a head-to-head match against their ruthless guards and sadistic warden in order to gain their freedom.'”

Jason Day was competing in the A&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. He’s looking to have a strong 2025 season after not winning a tournament on the PGA Tour last season. Day competed in 20 events last year and finished in the top four four times. He finished 33rd in FexEx Cup points and earned over $4 million.

In Day’s career, he has won 13 tournaments on the PGA Tour, including the PGA Championship in 2023. In the three other major championships, Day finished second in the Masters (2011), U.S. Open (2011 and tied for second in 2013) and The Open Championship (2023).

In November, Day told Code Sports Australia why he didn’t join LIV Golf. “I said [to my agent], ‘No worries, I’m happy with where I’m at, but it’s always nice to know,” Day said, per ESPN. “And they [LIV Golf] said, ‘We love Jason, but he’s too injured; he just gets too many injuries.’ I don’t blame them.”

Jason Day was also asked about fellow players who have left the PGA Tour for LIV. “I’m hoping we join back together because there’s definitely a lot of players on the LIV tour that we miss on the PGA Tour,” Day said. “I’ve always played very central with LIV and just never really got in the politics of it all.”
