Jason Kelce gifts signed Eagles jersey to his favorite McDonald's employee
Shortly after the Philadelphia Eagles lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Wild Card round of the playoffs, it was widely reported that All-Pro center Jason Kelce was going to retire. However, regardless of his future with the Eagles franchise, he’s still making his impact felt in the Philadelphia community.
Kelce stopped by the McDonald’s in his neighborhood on Wednesday morning. While there, he gave his favorite employee, Danielle Bonham a free jersey that he signed.

As the game came to an end, Jason Kelce was visibly emotional on the sidelines. He later declined to speak to the reporters, which is out of character for Kelce, sparking rumors that he was going to retire. The next morning, it was reported he told his teammates that he’d made his mind up and that’s what he was doing.
Jason Kelce was sixth round pick in the 2011 NFL Draft by the Eagles out of Cincinnati. Over the course of his career, he became one of the most famous players in the league, despite playing an often overlooked position. He also ingratiated himself with the city of Philadelphia itself, often going to Phillies games and dressing as a mummer for the team’s Super Bowl parade.
He is also the founder of (Be)Philly, a non-profit charity that describes itself as “fighting for a brighter future for the next generation of Philadelphians.”

Jason Kelce clarifies ‘retirement’ timeline with Philadelphia Eagles
Since it was widely reported that Jason Kelce told his teammates he was going to retire following the playoff loss, Kelce has pushed back on the idea that he has announced his retirement yet.
“I didn’t announce what I was doing on purpose. Despite I guess what’s been leaked to the media. But you know, I think there’s a lot of people who can feel body language itself, you know, you I just don’t think you’re in a position after a game like that to really make that decision. I just don’t, there’s too much emotion in the moment. There’s too much going down at the moment to really fully grasp that decision,” Kelce said.
“I’m not trying to be dramatic and continue to draw this thing out. I’m really not. It’s just something that I think, you know, when it’s time to officially announce what’s happening in the future, it’ll be done in a way that’s definitive and it pays respect to a lot of people and individuals that have meant a lot to me.”
