Jason Kelce jokingly takes credit for success of Amazon documentary amid Travis Kelce-Taylor Swift relationship
Just about everything Taylor Swift touches turns to gold. For evidence, look no further than the business she’s done for the NFL and Travis Kelce ever since her rumored romance with the Kansas City Chiefs tight end began.
But when it comes to the success of the Amazon Prime Video documentary, “Kelce,” Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce isn’t letting Swift get the bulk of the credit. “Kelce” has become the most-watched documentary in the U.S. all-time, and Jason Kelce believes it has to do with viewers simply wanting to see their family dynamic.
Well, kinda. Even the 35-year-old could only say it in a joking manner on the recent episode of the “New Heights” podcast.
“By the way, number one documentary of all-time… all because of you and me,” Jason Kelce said, via Awful Announcing. “It doesn’t have anything to do with this Taylor Swift drama.”
Travis Kelce agreed — again, jokingly.
“Yeah, man, everybody’s just so interested in the family dynamic,” Travis Kelce said.
Travis Kelce, NFL benefiting from the Taylor Swift effect
Yeah, it’s Swift. The answer is it’s Swift who has carried the documentary to historic viewership, especially when you consider the data to go off of. Thanks to an appearance from the pop superstar, a record amount of people tuned in to NBC to watch the Week 4 matchup between the Chiefs and New York Jets.

In total, the Chiefs’ 23-20 victory over the Jets garnered an average of 27 million viewers, the most-watched Sunday show since Super Bowl LVII in February. Viewership peaked at more than 29 million viewers during the second quarter.
The biggest jump in viewership compared to previous “Sunday Night Football” games took place among teen girls (age 12-17) — a 53% spike from the season-to-date average.
In addition to the NFL and TV networks, Travis Kelce has felt the Swift effect in full force. Kelce’s No. 87 jersey has seen a 400% increase in sales and he has gained more than 300,000 followers on social media. Kelce now owns a top-5 selling jersey in the NFL after the bump from Swifties across the country.
So, yeah. When you think of the contributing factors in why “Kelce” is the most-watched documentary in the U.S. all-time, look no further Swift.
