Jayden Daniels finds OT Trent Scott for big man score, first NFL passing touchdown
Washington Commanders (1-1) rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels threw his first career NFL touchdown in Monday’s Week 3 road contest against the Cincinnati Bengals (0-2).
If you were wondering which Commanders skill player was on the receiving end of Daniels’ first touchdown pass, the answer is none of them. Daniels instead connected with backup right tackle Trent Scott for the #bigmanscore. The third quarter touchdown extended Washington’s lead to 28-13.
While hardly the way he likely envisioned it go down, Daniels has to be elated to have finally gotten into the end zone through the air. Now, he may not be able to keep the ball as the chances Scott scores again are low, but it’s a special moment nonetheless for the 2024 No. 2 overall pick out of LSU.

Jayden Daniels continues to impress in early NFL career
Prior to Monday’s game, Daniels had found the end zone twice with his legs. He added another rushing score in the second quarter against Cincinnati, now accounting for four total touchdowns this season. Daniels has indeed been impressive and if the scoreline holds, it’ll be a signature win for him and the Commanders in just their third game together.

Now doing it in primetime, Daniels is quickly earning adulation from a former Commanders signal-caller who was quite exciting as a rookie in 2012.
“If Jayden Daniels’ performance wasn’t enough already, we just got a Thicc Six TD to O-lineman Trent Scott as his 1ST TD PASS IN THE NFL. This guy is UNBELIEVABLE,” Robert Griffin III wrote on X. “What a Night of Football.”
