Washington Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels has been sensational early on in his NFL career. The former LSU star has helped the Commanders to a 3-1 start, making plays with both his arm and legs.

It’s no surprise that on Thursday he was named the NFL Rookie of the Month for September on the offensive side of the ball.

Jayden Daniels has already accounted for 897 passing yards, 218 rushing yards and seven total touchdowns. He is also completing better than 82 percent of his passes.

In a win over the Cardinals this past weekend, Daniels was 26 of 30 passing for 233 yards with a touchdown and an interception. He also ran for 47 yards and a score.

As for the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Month, that honor went to Los Angeles Rams defensive lineman Jared Verse.

The former Florida State star has already accumulated 19 tackles, 5 tackles for loss, a sack and a forced fumble in his young career. The Rams are 1-3 on the season with a couple of close losses, but Jared Verse has done his part.

It will be interesting to see how these two young stars continue to develop in the NFL for the rest of this season and for years to come.

ESPN NFL analysts debate whether rookie QB Jayden Daniels is best in NFC

Just how good has Jayden Daniels been? He is the best quarterback in the NFC as it stands, according to ESPN’s Damien Woody.

Woody and fellow analysts Rex Ryan and Teddy Bruschi debated that statement following the Washington Commanders’ win over the Arizona Cardinals. It’s now three wins in a row for the Commanders and Daniels looks better and better each week.

The rookie and Heisman Trophy winner out of LSU might be the toast of the conference through four weeks.

“Jayden Daniels is the best quarterback in the NFC right now,” Woody said on Get Up. “I want to repeat again: Jayden Daniels is the best quarterback in the NFC right now. Who’s playing better than Jayden Daniels in the NFC right now?

“I’ll say this: Him completing 82% is bound to fall off some, right. All that experience in college translates to the pros. Nothing seems to bother him. He’s accurate, he’s athletic, he’s cool in the pocket, and all that playing experience is playing out on the field right now.”

This season, Daniels has 897 yards, three touchdowns, one interception, an 82.1% completion percentage, 218 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns.

“Every team in the National Football League is trying to find the next Jayden Daniels,” Ryan said. “I’m telling you, that’s the prototype that’s playing in this league now, the great mobility, the arm talent and the poise. That’s the answer. It’s always been there, alright? Bill Walsh, 100 years ahead of his time, that’s what he looked for. But you know what? That’s what it is. It’s not just the pocket passers anymore. You’re looking for the dual threat guys like a Jayden Daniels.”
