Jayden Daniels, Malik Nabers underwent NFL gambling policy training after Rookie of the Year bet
The NFL recently talked to Jayden Daniels and Malik Nabers about a bet they made during a podcast. According to Mark Maske of the Washington Post, NFL executive vice president of communications Jeff Miller said that Daniels and Nabers received “multiple education training sessions” on the league’s gambling policy after Nabers said on a podcast that he and Daniels bet each other $10,000 on who would win Offensive Rookie of the Year.
“As you know, they rescinded that bet. The league addressed the matter directly with the NFL Players Association, with the two teams and with the two players to ensure that they understood the policy,” Miller said. “They received multiple education training sessions since that time. And… as a result of all the work that went into it, I think we’re comfortable with the resolution.”
After the draft, Nabers appeared on The Pivot podcast and revealed the bet. Daniels confirmed it on the All Facts No Brakes podcast but then revealed the bet was canceled.
“We were uneducated on the gambling policy in the NFL,” Daniels said. “We learned about it last night. Me and him had a conversation and we canceled the bet. Obviously, we don’t want to get in trouble with anything. We’re just focused on being the best players for our respective teams.”

Nabers also confirmed the bet has been called off. “I’m educated now that I got here about sports betting and gambling,” Nabers said. “We’re calling the bet off. There is no bet now. It was just another brother pushing another brother to try to get to success. That is all it was.”

On Thursday, the NFL released its summary of the league’s gambling policy education and integrity monitoring efforts. This year’s gambling policy states that NFL players can never bet on the league. It also states a player can’t have another person bet for them, a player can’t enter a sportsbook during the playing season and they can’t play daily fantasy football.
