Jayden Daniels named 2024 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year
The NFL announced on Thursday Jayden Daniels won the league’s Offensive Rookie of the Year award. The announcement was made during the 14th annual NFL Honors ceremony aired on FOX and NFL Network.
Jayden Daniels was one of the finalists, along with Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers, New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers, Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix and Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. On Thursday morning, Daniels was named the 2024 Pepsi Zero Sugar NFL Rookie of the Year.
Daniels started and won 14 games, including the playoffs, this year, tied with former Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (14 wins in 2004) for the most wins by a rookie quarterback, including the postseason in NFL history. The former LSU Tigers star became the fourth rookie QB all-time to start and win multiple playoff games, joining Joe Flacco (2008 with Baltimore), Brock Purdy (2022 with San Francisco) and Mark Sanchez (2009 with the New York Jets).
Brock Bowers set a new NFL record for receptions by a rookie (112) and receiving yards by a rookie tight end (1,194) this season. He also passed Amari Cooper for the most receiving yards by a rookie in Raiders history and Darren Waller for the most receptions in a season in Raiders history.

“I’m real encouraged, and I’m glad that he’s with us and that it worked out the way it did,” Broncos head coach Sean Payton said about Nix following the season, per the Broncos’ official website. “… I think it’s all in front of him. And I said this before, I think we found that player that can lead us and be what we need, relative to having the success we’re used to having. I think we found it.”
Malik Nabers broke the Giants’ single-season receptions record with 109. The total is also the most receptions by a rookie wide receiver in NFL history, topping the 105 catches made by Los Angeles Rams’ Puka Nacua in 2023.
Brian Thomas Jr. finished the 2024 season with 87 receptions for 1,282 yards and 10 touchdowns, setting rookie Jaguars records in each category. He ranked first among rookies and third overall in receiving yards.
