Report: Jaylen Waddle, Raheem Mostert 'up in the air' to play against Buffalo Bills
The Miami Dolphins could be down two of their best players, Jaylen Waddle and Raheem Mostert, when they take on the Buffalo Bills.
It’s a big one considering Miami can win the AFC East and lock up the No. 2 seed with a win or a tie. Or a loss could send them tub, mling down the AFC playoff standings.
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler provided the latest on Waddle and Mostert’s chances of playing Sunday.
“And then the Dolphins are really beat up this time of year trying to get through to earn that two seed if they can beat Buffalo,” Fowler said on SportsCenter. “But you got Raheem Mosert there with an ankle and knee issue. He’s questionable, barely practiced. Jaylen Waddle with an ankle injury, he’s questionable, barely practiced.
“I was told from somebody with the team that he is probably 40 to 60 that they play him, maybe 40%. So it’s really sort of up in the air for both, not a slam dunk. I know Buffalo is preparing for both knowing that Waddle (is) maybe not playing, but he looked pretty good in practice. He’s moving around well, so we’ll see.”
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport provided a similar update on Waddle earlier this week and even referenced his college days.

“He’s dealing with a high-ankle sprain, didn’t practice this week,” Rapoport reported on Sunday. “Not considered to be a severe one but could keep him out next week as well. My understanding is that Waddle, who is a quick healer, is expected back for the playoffs.”
“Remember a couple of years ago, he played in the National Championship when people were saying he shouldn’t, he heals quick, he wants to be on the field, that’s what I would expect in the playoffs.”
Before he suffered the ankle injury, Waddle was second on the team in receiving yards with 1,014 on 72 catches, trailing only Tyreek Hill. He also has four touchdowns this season. He became the first Dolphins receiver in history to hit 1,000 receiving yards in each of his first three seasons.
As far as Mostert is concerned, he hasn’t played since December 24th against the Dallas Cowboys.
This year, he topped 1,000 yards for the first time in his career, spanning five different teams since 2015. He has 209 carries for 1,012 yards, 18 touchdowns and 4.8 yards per carry.
