Week 1 is quickly approaching, and the Pittsburgh Steelers released their first injury report of the season. Multiple players were limited in practice ahead of Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons.

Jaylen Warren is one of the most notable names to show up on the initial injury report as he works his way back from a hamstring injury. He was limited in practice, but Mike Tomlin previously said he was optimistic Warren would be able to play in Sunday’s opener.

Troy Fautanu was also limited with a knee injury, which kept him out for most of the preseason. The Steelers drafted the former Washington standout in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft and he was gearing up to make the shift to right tackle.

All told, four Steelers were limited in practice as the race toward Week 1 continues. On the Atlanta side, two players were on the injury report – the most notable of which was Kyle Pitts, which could have a major impact on the revamped offense with Kirk Cousins now at quarterback.

Mike Tomlin: Isaac Seumalo ‘week to week’

Seumalo was one of two Steelers to miss practice on Wednesday, but Mike Tomlin said the team got “good news” about where he stands. As for a timeline for a return, the coach said it’ll be a week-by-week basis.

“Isaac can be described as out this week, but we did get good news regarding his pec injury,” Tomlin said, via Steelers.com’s Teresa Varley. “We’ll characterize it as week-to-week and see where next week leads us, but really optimistic about his returning sooner rather than later.”

Spencer Anderson is expected to get more of the workload if Seumalo can’t go. His status will be worth monitoring as the week goes along.
