The U.S. Grand Prix is taking place this weekend at COTA. Hendrick Motorsports Jeff Gordon and William Byron caught up with Aston Martin Aramco. The two NASCAR stars are taking in the sights and sounds of the paddock.

COTA is the one track that F1 and NASCAR share. Last week at the Roval, Jessica Hawkins of Aston Martin hung out with the Hendrick crew. This week, the F1 team repaid the favor.

Is this the one time that we are going to see Drive to Survive and NASCAR: Full Speed crossover? William Byron is in the middle of a championship run. He has been doing fantastic as of late, too. Oh and he won the COTA Cup Series race earlier this season.

It is a shame that we never got to see Jeff Gordon give an F1 car a shot. It would have been amazing to see what he could have done in his prime. Maybe one day Byron will be able to give it a shot?

There are rumors about Kyle Larson getting a practice session in an F1 car soon. McLaren is willing to work on the logistics, it appears. That will be a lot of fun for motorsports fans all over the world.

We need a little more F1 and NASCAR crossover in our lives. Any time you can get the best drivers in their respective disciplines together, it’s a lot of fun. They may drive different cars, but the passion to race and to win is all the same.

William Byron chasing a championship

The last time William Byron won a race was at Martinsville. His three wins came quickly and with authority. Since then, it has been an up-and-down season with Byron and his team searching for consistency and speed.

Well, they may have found just that. Byron ran P2, P3, and P3 in the Round of 12 to cruise his way into the Round of 8 on points. This is about the time of the year when Byron turned it on last season as well. He finished the Round of 12 in 2023 with P1, P2, and P2 finishes.

Las Vegas is winnable, Homestead is winnable, and Martinsville – well he already won there once this season and twice since 2022. The path back to Phoenix at the Championship 4 is clear for Byron, he has to take advantage of it, though.

William Byron is a guy who seems to be into the finer details. He looks like he is having a good time with Jeff Gordon in Austin. Should be a fun weekend of F1 and NASCAR racing.
