It’s no secret that the NFL’s Pro Bowl is one of the more slighted events in all of pro sports. With the continuously changing format and just the general lack of weight that it carries, even within its own sport, many are happy to skip the event. However, to those who are named Pro Bowlers, it’s still as big of an honor as they can come across in their football careers.

That sentiment was on full display yesterday when the Washington Commanders posted a video where head coach Ron Rivera informed their select players that they’d made the team. One stood out more than the rest, though, as Jeremy Reaves, a 26-year old safety and special-teams player out of South Alabama, learned he had just become a Pro Bowler.

Reaves has been on a long journey as it is. He went undrafted in 2018 and has bounced around teams and practice squads ever since. However, things only became more difficult as, just over a year ago, Reaves’ mother passed away. He described her as his ‘biggest fan’ and said that she has been his motivation over the last 13 months as she ‘would’ve wanted (him) to keep going.’

Again, the Pro Bowl is by no means the most glamorous of sporting events. With that said, do not tell someone like Reaves that. He has come a long way over his professional career to simply keep his dream alive and, now, it has culminated in an honor like this. There’s no doubt he’ll be putting his best foot forward, for himself and his mother, come the 2023 Pro Bowl in Las Vegas on February 5th.

Starting in the 2023 season, NFL Sunday Ticket will be available on YouTube’s subscription businesses as an add-on package on YouTube TV or a standalone a-la-carte option on YouTube Primetime Channels.

“We’re excited to bring NFL Sunday Ticket to YouTube TV and YouTube Primetime Channels and usher in a new era of how fans across the United States watch and follow the NFL,” NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said in a release. “For a number of years we have been focused on increased digital distribution of our games and this partnership is yet another example of us looking towards the future and building the next generation of NFL fans.”

“YouTube has long been a home for football fans, whether they’re streaming live games, keeping up with their home team, or watching the best plays in highlights,” said Susan Wojcicki, CEO of YouTube. “Through this expanded partnership with the NFL, viewers will now also be able to experience the game they love in compelling and innovative ways through YouTube TV or YouTube Primetime Channels. We’re excited to continue our work with the NFL to make YouTube a great place for sports lovers everywhere.”

Since NFL Sunday Ticket’s launch in 1994, it has been an exclusive product for DirecTV’s satellite service.
