Jerry Jones reacts to Cowboys’ brutal loss to Detroit Lions in bizarre fashion
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones had some interesting things to say after his team suffered a blowout loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday. While speaking to reporters, Jones talked about losing on his 82nd birthday.
“I think it was the just the feeling of the team having fun at our expense, Detroit having fun at our expense,” Jones explained.
Jones is not wrong because the Lions seemed to have plenty of fun in the 47-9 victory. Detroit recorded 492 yards of total offense, and quarterback Jared Goff threw for 315 yards and three touchdowns. On the flip side, Cowboys QB Dak Prescott threw for just 178 yards and two interceptions in the loss.
While Jones was not happy with how things went on Sunday, it doesn’t look like any big changes will be made. Jones told reporters that he’s not thinking about making any coaching or personnel changes despite the team being 3-3 after six games.

Jerry Jones talks about Cowboys’ third home loss this year
The season is still young, so Jones will likely wait and see if the Cowboys can get back on track after the bye week. The schedule doesn’t get any easier as they will have road contests against the San Francisco 49ers and the Atlanta Falcons in consecutive weeks.
“We’ve certainly got a bye week, but there’s nothing magic about a bye week,” Jones said, per the Cowboys’ official website. “You can do some things differently [as far as] some of the things that bit us out there today. This was very concerning and it was very humbling and it was very — I felt bad because of all of our great fans, especially the ones in the stadium and certainly the ones that are all about the Cowboys. So we’ve got a lot of work to do.”
Jones also talked about the Cowboys not winning a home game this year. “We all know you should feel better at home,” Jones stated. “I think that is an advantage. You don’t travel. You sleep in your own bed. It should be an advantage at home and that’s one of the first things you look at.”
