Jerry Jones reveals Cowboys cornerback Anthony Brown suffered season-ending Achilles injury
Dallas Cowboys cornerback Anthony Brown suffered an Achilles injury that will likely keep him out for the remainder of the season, owner Jerry Jones revealed Sunday evening.
The news comes after Brown was carted off the field during the third quarter of Sunday night’s game against the Colts. The injury that he sustained what not immediately clear at the time, as he was carted off by the medical staff during a television break after a successful two-point attempt stop by the Dallas defense.
When the broadcast returned, they shared video of Brown riding the medical cart with a towel covering his head, apparently having suffered a serious injury prior to the change of possession.
The seventh-year corner for the Cowboys has started every game for them over the past two seasons, working opposite of Trevon Diggs and alternating with Kelvin Joseph. The injury could be a major blow to a Dallas defense already missing some depth with Nahshon Wright listed as inactive for Sunday’s game.
In light of the injury, Anthony Brown will end his season with 39 tackles, six passes defended and one forced fumble. CJ Goodwin could be a candidate to see more time with Brown sidelined. So far this season, he has appeared in all 12 games to record five tackles and one forced fumble.

Jerry Jones claims Ezekiel Elliott did not start Sunday due to ‘disciplinary reasons’
After beating the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, owner Jerry Jones said the Cowboys did not start Ezekiel Elliott for disciplinary reasons. The news came as a surprise to many fans as the game saw both Elliott and Tony Pollard sharing touches throughout the contest.
Elliott did not receive a touch during the game until the eighth offensive play ran by Dallas, seeming to confirm Jones’ statement that the plan was to give Pollard a clear starting role in the game.
Despite the newly revealed limit on his starting spot, Elliott finished the game with five more carries than his counterpart Pollard. Elliott racked up 77 yards on the ground, and one touchdown in the fourth quarter where he celebrated by paying homage to his famous Salvation Army kettle moment from 2016.
