Jimmy Kimmel jokingly conspires against Aaron Rodgers playing in an NFL game

Aaron Rodgers has been in the headlines all offseason and not just for football reasons. But if you ask talk show host Jimmy Kimmel, there is no football Rodgers has ever played. Kimmel is starting a conspiracy theory that a body double has been playing in Rodgers’ place this entire time.
Not just in New York either, going back to his days in Green Bay. Kimmel joked, saying the first game Rodgers ever did play was this past fall when the Jets played the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football — a game where the quarterback tore his Achilles.
“What the deep state won’t tell you is that Aaron Rodgers never played football,” Kimmel said. “He’s not a football player. He faked his entire career. In fact, the first time he ever played in an NFL game was last year, the week before his first game with the Jets.
“Aaron’s body double, the guy who had played every single game for him before this, died of COVID, and they had nobody dumb looking enough to fill in. So, they had to bring in the real Aaron Rodgers and he had to go in and fake an injury on the third play of Opening Day, that’s why he only threw one pass.”
Kimmel and Rodgers have had a back-and-forth going for some time. These comments are off the back of a report stating Rodgers did not believe the Sandy Hook shooting was not real. It’s one of the many theories the quarterback has had over the years, including saying Kimmel would be linked with Jeffery Epstein once the documents were released.

Rodgers has since disputed the CNN report regarding Sandy Hook, saying he has “never been of the opinion” of the event not taking place.
“As I’m on the record saying in the past, what happened in Sandy Hook was an absolute tragedy,” Aaron Rogers wrote on Twitter. “I am not and have never been of the opinion that the events did not take place. Again, I hope that we learn from this and other tragedies to identify the signs that will allow us to prevent unnecessary loss of life. My thoughts and prayers continue to remain with the families affected along with the entire Sandy Hook community.”
Of course, Kimmel was joking about Rodgers not being a real NFL player. He was potentially close to moving away from football to get into politics but was not selected to be the Vice President running mate of Robert Kennedy Jr.
Instead, Rodgers will have to suit up for the Jets and attempt to get the franchise back to the playoffs. After his season ended after three plays in 2023, everyone in New York is hoping the season extends in late January this go-round.
