JJ Watt claims NFL is 'stealing' money from players after ridiculous Patrick Ricard fine
Former NFL defensive end JJ Watt called out the NFL Sunday for “stealing money” from players after several players across the league were fined for “unnecessary roughness.”
Watt particularly took issue with Baltimore Ravens fullback Patrick Ricard being fined $21,694 for executing what appeared to be a standard block against the Arizona Cardinals last week.

“I will say it again… This is STEALING money from guys,” Watt wrote on X. “These absurd fines for routine football plays have got to stop. Fines for intentfully malicious plays? Absolutely. Taking $21,694 from a guy for this?! What are we doing. This is out of control.”
Watt added: “And don’t tell me it’s about “player safety”. Cut blocks are legal. You can LITERALLY target a players knee with your helmet intentionally. So don’t act like we’re on some high and mighty “player safety” crusade.”
