J.K. Dobbins injury: Chargers RB questionable to return vs. Ravens
Los Angeles Chargers running back J.K. Dobbins suffered a knee injury in the Monday Night Football game against the Baltimore Ravens. He is questionable to return.
Dobbins suffered the injury in the second quarter of the contest. During the ESPN broadcast, Laura Rutledge reported that the Chargers taped his left knee. Dobbins tried to run on the sideline, but the Chargers sent him to the locker room before the end of the first half.
Before the injury, Dobbins rushed for 40 yards on six carries and caught three passes for 19 yards against the Ravens. Dobbins has put together a strong 2024 season, rushing for 726 yards and eight touchdowns this year (not including the Ravens game).
Dobbins, 25, signed with the Chargers in April after spending his first four seasons with the Ravens. After having a productive rookie season in 2020, the former Ohio State star played in just nine games the next three seasons due to injuries. In 2021, Dobbins tore his ACL during the preseason and missed the entire year. The following season, Dobbins played in eight games because he was recovering from the torn ACL and he suffered another knee injury. In 2023, Dobbins tore his Achilles in the season opener.

Dobbins is a big reason the Chargers had a 7-3 record heading into the Monday night game. “I’m just proving myself right,” Dobbins told Chargers.com last week. “I know I’m one of the best whenever I’m healthy. That’s why I’m just proving myself right.
“The injuries have slowed me down, but those are the things I couldn’t control,” Dobbins added. “They weren’t nagging injuries, I couldn’t play. It was freak accidents. Now I’m back and hopefully stay healthy so I can show people, show myself that I am one of those guys.”
“J.K., he brings a ton of positive energy,” Chargers offensive coordinator Greg Roman said. He’s ready to roll. Really is an energy giver to everybody around him and we appreciate that. He comes in every day, great attitude, working hard, trying to get better,” Roman later added. “What else can you ask for?”
