One Kansas City Chiefs fan expressed his dismay that he would have to listen to Joe Buck on the CBS broadcast of the AFC Championship against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. The only issue? Buck isn’t calling the game.

That announcers are actually Tony Romo and Jim Nantz alongside sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson. Buck actually calls games for ESPN, which he signed a five-year deal with this past offseason after many years working for FOX.

Buck saw the post from the fan, who goes by BobsLazer on X, and decided to play along with a sarcastic response.

“Yep! Almost set to go. Cold here in KC. @tonyromo and I are about to see who will meet the Eagles in SB LIX. Tune us in on @NFLonCBS, ” he wrote.

Although Buck isn’t calling this Chiefs game, he was part of the crew for their Divisional Round win against the Houston Texans. Perhaps that is why the fan believed he would again be working Sunday evening’s contest.

Kansas City is off to a 7-3 lead so far with 2:38 remaining in the first quarter.

Bears chairman George McCaskey deflects Tom Brady question, instead takes shot at Joe Buck

Two days before he was announced as the Chicago Bears head coach, Ben Johnson coached in the NFC Divisional Round as the Detroit Lions took on the Washington Commanders. Tom Brady was on the call for FOX, which was interesting as the Las Vegas Raiders – for which he’s a part-owner – were reportedly heavily pursuing Johnson as head coach.

Brady’s presence in the booth generated some conversation considering his role in the Raiders’ coaching search. After Johnson chose Chicago, though, a reporter asked Bears chairman George H. McCaskey about the FOX broadcast. Rather than address Brady calling the game, he instead decided to take a shot at Joe Buck.

Buck called Saturday’s opener between the Houston Texans and Kansas City Chiefs for ESPN alongside Troy Aikman. But that didn’t stop McCaskey from cracking a joke about FOX’s former lead play-by-play man.

“I don’t care who they put on,” McCaskey said when asked about Brady calling Lions vs. Commanders. “When Joe Buck’s on, I turn the sound down.”
