Joe Buck, Troy Aikman take shot at Dallas Cowboys over Derrick Henry during Ravens-Buccaneers
Derrick Henry is in the midst of another incredible performance in primetime, dicing up the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday Night Football. Baltimore signed him in the offseason expecting big things and thus far, results have paid off in a big way. One of the league’s best rushing attacks has somehow gotten even better.
Joe Buck and Troy Aikman are on the call and watch Henry rip off a huge run down the left sideline. The color commentator had high praise of the running back following the play, saying there have to be teams out there wishing they signed Henry.
“There’s got to be a lot of teams out there that had opportunities to bring in Derrick Henry that are kind of kicking themselves for not doing it,” Aikman said.
Buck then took a shot at the Dallas Cowboys, jokingly asking Aikman if there was a specific team on his mind in that scenario.
“Can you think of any teams off hand?” Buck asked. “I’ll just throw this out there — the offseason home for Derrick Henry is in Dallas, Texas.”

Running back was an obvious position of need for Dallas this offseason and through six games, still is. Henry was the biggest named free agent available but owner/general manager Jerry Jones decided to sign Ezekiel Elliott instead. After Henry torched the Cowboys earlier in the year, Jones claimed they could not afford him.
“I thought, in Zeke, we really had an opportunity,” Jones said about signing Elliott over Henry. “I know he really wanted to get back with the Cowboys. I personally thought that his work there in New England was better than maybe a lot of other people evaluated it. I thought he did carry the mail in critical times for them… I have more belief that Zeke gives us what we need in our short yardage than what a lot of fans do.”
Unfortunately for Jones, Henry continues to shine as he entered the day as the NFL’s leading rusher. Having over 150 yards on Monday night will only expand his lead.
In comparison, Elliott has 115 yards and Rico Dowdle leads the way with 246 yards in the worst rushing attack in football. At this point, even Aikman and Buck have to get in on the jokes.
