Joe Burrow arrives to Bengals preseason opener in style
Joe Burrow, the Bengals quarterback and NFL fashionista, toned down his ‘fit for the first preseason game of the season.
Of course, everyone wanted to know what Burrow would wear. He’s the guy who’ll wear fur or some expensive, custom-tailored suit all for the walk from his car to the Bengals locker room. Fans stop what they’re doing to check out what Burrow is wearing.
The NFL’s social media team shared the clip. They captioned the video “Slim Shiesty in the building” with a fire emoji, then tagged Burrow’s @JoeyB X account. Burrow wore a short-sleeved white hoodie with black stripes above the elbow. The shorts had some print design from the hip to the leg. And of course, there are the designer shades. He prefers Cartier. He completed the look with some white athletic shoes and crew socks.
There is a newness to his look. Burrow reported to Bengals training camp with platinum blond hair.
It’s good to see Burrow back and healthy again. He’s expected to play one series Saturday night when the Bengals play host to the Tampa Bay Bucs. Burrow, the former LSU star and No. 1 pick of the 2020 NFL Draft, had a disappointing season in 2023. This time last summer, he was recovering from a calf strain that zapped his training camp. He reinjured his leg during a week two game against the Ravens at Paycor Stadium. Then in mid-November, he tore a ligament in his throwing wrist when the Bengals visited Baltimore. Surgery ended his season.
It’s an odd stat, but Burrow has thrown only one pass in a preseason game.
“I’m excited for it,” Burrow told reporters earlier this week. “I’m excited to get these reps and have these reps to get better right now.”

Burrow needs to shake off some competitive rust, so that’s why he wants to play. But at the same time Bengals coach Zac Taylor doesn’t want his quarterback taking an unnecessary hit. Cincinnati failed to make the playoffs in 2023 without Burrow in the lineup for a chunk of the season.
At the same time, Burrow isn’t going to miss the chance to show off some fashion. After all, he went with former LSU teammate Justin Jefferson to Paris earlier this summer for Fashion Week. He stalked the catwalk for the Vogue World: Paris show. And he said his friends still are kidding him for wearing a backless black Peter Do suit.
“I showed up and they gave it to me and I said, ‘Sure,'” Burrow told Pardon My Take podcast last month.
He added: “I’ve been roasted in just about every group chat I could possibly be roasted in.
