WATCH: Joe Burrow has hilarious response after mic catches him saying, 'I'm him'
Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has been nicknamed “Joe Cool” for his swagger and charisma both on and off the field, and he has certainly lived up to that title this postseason.
Burrow was mic’d up for Sunday’s divisional round playoff win against the Bills and was caught hyping himself up following a first quarter touchdown pass to tight end Hayden Hurst. Celebrating the score with teammate Mike Hilton, Burrow was heard screaming, “I’m him!”
Asked to elaborate on the moment in a Wednesday press conference, Burrow let out a big laugh and claimed not to remember.
“Did I say that?” he asked with a wide smile. “Sometimes you black out out there I guess. I don’t know.”
Burrow had every right to be feeling himself after his performance Sunday, as he got Cincinnati off to a 14-0 start with two first quarter touchdowns. Those would end up being his only ones of the game as he finished 23-of-36 passing for 242 yards in the win.

The No. 1 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, Burrow has already accomplished a lot during his short time in the league. Last year in just his second season, he led the Bengals to their first Super Bowl appearance in more than 30 years. Although they would go on to lose to the Los Angeles Rams, it was a sign of what the future could hold in Cincinnati with Burrow under center.
This year, Joe Burrow led the Bengals to a 12-4 finish while throwing for 4,475 yards, 35 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. Now he has them back in the AFC Championship, where they’ll face the Chiefs in a rematch of last year’s conference title game.
Burrow, who is just 26, will hope to continue to build his legacy this postseason. Of course the young star has a Super Bowl on his mind, but first will need to take care of business against Kansas City. Kickoff for the AFC title game is set for 6:30 p.m. ET on Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium.
