Joe Burrow, Jared Goff and Kirk Cousins will feature in new season of Netflix's 'Quarterback'

Netflix is bringing back Quarterback for a second season. Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals, Jared Goff of the Detroit Lions and Kirk Cousins of the Atlanta Falcons will feature, the streaming service announced on Wednesday.
The first season was well received, with Patrick Mahomes, Marcus Mariota and the aforementioned Cousins starring in the show. However, the team behind the production had trouble finding three quarterbacks to participate last season, so they pivoted and created Receiver. Now, the focus will return to the signal-callers, as the trio of Burrow, Goff and Cousins stepped up.
Check out the trailer for the show below. It should be a fun ride following Burrow, Goff and Cousins, as the trio are in different stages of their NFL journeys. Some interesting narratives can be crafted, for sure.
As you can tell, each quarterback will bring an interesting account to the show. First, Burrow is coming off a season where he was named the NFL’s Comeback Player of the Year, and he threw 43 touchdowns to only nine interceptions. Those are numbers you might associate with a Super Bowl-caliber team, but the Bengals missed the playoffs entirely.
Now, Burrow will try to recreate the incredible season he had in 2024, but with some more success as a team as part of the equation. He’s never been shy about showcasing his charisma, and a deeper look into how the former LSU Tigers star operates will be something to behold.

Moreover, Goff has remade himself into a top-tier quarterback with the Lions, after the Los Angeles Rams unceremoniously ended their time with him. Their regular season was leaps and bounds better than the Bengals, but Detroit ended with the same amount of playoff wins, as they suffered a shocking defeat at the hands of the Washington Commanders in the NFC Divisional Round.
How will Goff and the Lions respond to 2024’s disappointment? That should be a massive storyline to explore throughout season two of Quarterback. And then there’s the aforementioned Cousins. This is his second go-round on the show, but this time he’ll be in a new city, as he signed with the Atlanta Falcons ahead of the 2024 season.
Will he remain with the Falcons when the show is on though? That remains to be seen, as Cousins has seemingly been on the trade block due to the advent of Michael Penix Jr. as the team’s starting quarterback. The team hasn’t dealt Cousins yet, but it might just be a matter of time, as it’s tough to see him remain Atlanta’s backup throughout 2025.
Regardless, it’s evident season two of Quarterback will be a memorable one. With Joe Burrow, Jared Goff and Kirk Cousins taking center stage in this year’s iteration, we’re excited to see how Netflix handles their stories this time around.
