It’s become commonplace to see NFL quarterbacks gift their offensive linemen with elaborate, thoughtful presents around the holidays to thank the group for keeping them upright throughout the season, and Joe Burrow might’ve given the most unique present yet.

The Cincinnati Bengals star decided Samurai swords were the way to go in 2024. It’s certainly a bit off the wall, but his reasoning makes sense. Evidently, the Bengals offensive linemen asked Santa Burrow for guns, but since it’s something the quarterback doesn’t know too much about, he opted for a different weapon of choice.

“I was like, ‘I don’t know about guns, guys.’ And so, I was in the weapon mindset, and I was like, ‘What’s a cool weapon?’ And Samurai swords, I think, are pretty dang cool,” Burrow said, via TMZ Sports. “I think guys were excited about it.”

Evidently, Burrow was right to go with the swords. Bengals offensive lineman Alex Cappa told ESPN the gift was among the best he’s ever received, “It’s my favorite gift I’ve ever gotten by far because it’s so different,” the pass-protecter stated.

Additionally, fellow lineman Matt Lee is of the belief that the story behind the sword makes it all worth it, as well: “When I’m 45 and someone asks me, ‘What’s the story about that?’ I’ll end it with, ‘And Joe Burrow gave it to me.’ And that might be the coolest part,” he added.

Alas, Joe Burrow knocked Christmas out of the park for the Bengals, it seems. The playoffs might not be on the horizon, but he’s having an incredible season nonetheless, proving why he’s continually mentioned among the elite quarterbacks in the league.

Patrick Mahomes gives Chiefs offensive linemen legendary Christmas gifts

Meanwhile, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes joined Joe Burrow in giving his offensive linemen memorable Christmas gifts. The Chiefs and NFL reporter/host Kay Adams shared photos of the gift package Mahomes gave to each lineman. The package includes Rolex watches, Lucchese boots, Yeti coolers, Oakley sunglasses and Normatec compression boots.

Per MSN, the combined cost of the Christmas gift package would be at least $7,000. Mahomes wanted to make sure that the guys protecting him each game had a Christmas they wouldn’t forget.

The gift package for the linemen came before the Chiefs defeated the Houston Texans 27-19 to improve to 14-1 on the year. Mahomes had an efficient outing on Saturday, completing 28 of 41 passes for 266 yards and one touchdown. The three-time Super Bowl champion also ran for 33 yards and one score, and he did this while battling an ankle injury.
