Could Hailie Deegan get another opportunity in the NASCAR Xfinity Series just weeks after she parted ways with AM Racing?

That certainly seems to be a possibility, as Joe Custer of Stewart-Haas Racing noted he has talked to Deegan about the 2025 Xfinity season.

“Yes, we’ve spoken with her,” Custer said. “Obviously she was with one of our technical partners, so that’s a challenge, right? To see what the future is with her. We believe there’s more in her, you know, and we want to be part of that. But that’s for future conversations.”

Deegan is looking for a few ride after her recent partnership with AM Racing ended, while Custer is looking for two drivers for the newly formed Haas Factory Team in the Xfinity Series. Interest for those two positions has been high, particularly after the promotion of Cole Custer from the Xfinity Series to the Cup Series, announced on Saturday.

“‘There is no lack of interest’ in the two Xfinity Series cars that Haas Factory Team will field next year says Joe Custer. ‘We’re getting close’ to announcing those drivers,” Kelly Crandall of RACER posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Additionally, Crandall noted that, “An offer has been made to Riley Herbst to remain with the program. However, Joe Custer says that Herbst and his team are looking at everything across the sport as far as options for next year.”

Hailie Deegan, of course, would bring a big name to the team, if not the instant success.

She’s the daughter of motorsports legend Brian Deegan and has a large fanbase off the track in part because of that, though she’s certainly enjoyed plenty of success behind the wheel in her own right.

Deegan enjoyed the most success in the ARCA Menards Series West, where she secured three wins and 23 top-10 finishes. That success has been harder to come by in the higher levels, with Deegan failing to secure a win so far in either the Craftsman Truck Series or the Xfinity Series.

At least one NASCAR veteran thinks another big opportunity for Hailie Deegan, like one of the two Haas Factory Team’s Xfinity Series seats, might be hard to come by.

“I think it’s gonna be tough to get another chance,” Kevin Harvick said. “That’s gonna be the hard part.”
