Joe Gibbs Racing announced Tuesday that Bass Pro Shops will continue to sponsor the No. 19 Toyota piloted by the newly signed Chase Briscoe in 2025.

Bass Pro Shops, which has sponsored Martin Truex Jr. for years, elected to keep its partnership going with JGR despite Truex retiring from full-time competition after the 2024 Cup Series season. The No. 19 car will carry Bass Pro Shops as the primary sponsor for the 2025 Daytona 500.

“We have been honored to stand beside Martin Truex Jr. for the last 21 years and together with our friends at Joe Gibbs Racing over the last six years,” said Johnny Morris, founder of Bass Pro Shops. “We are proud to represent sportsmen and women across North America as we extend this relationship with Joe Gibbs Racing, Toyota and Chase Briscoe.”

JGR officially announced that Briscoe will replace Truex in the No. 19 car, bringing an end to his four-season tenure with Stewart-Haas Racing. Briscoe inked a multiyear deal with JGR and Bass Pro Shops will remain the primary sponsor for the No. 19 car. James Small, who took the reins atop the pit box in 2020 after Cole Pearn’s departure, will remain the team’s crew chief.

“I’m excited for this opportunity with Joe Gibbs Racing and Bass Pro Shops,” Briscoe said. “From a competition standpoint, JGR is the place to be if you want to go win races week in and week out and to race for the championship every year. I am blessed that Johnny Morris and Bass Pro are on board to help us carry on the legacy of the 19 car.

“For me personally, being an avid outdoorsman, there’s a lot of pride in now being a part of the Bass Pro brand. And I’m extremely grateful for this partnership. Getting to meet Johnny, I feel like I share a lot of the same values as him and Coach. And I’m ready to get to work and prove that they have made a great choice putting me in this car.”

Briscoe, 29, makes the move to JGR and immediately takes over one of the most coveted rides in the sport. Briscoe is halfway through his final season with SHR in what has been a solid campaign thus far. He currently sits just 25 points back of Joey Logano for the 16th and final playoff spot. Briscoe finished a season best P2 this past Sunday at New Hampshire. Through 18 races, he has tallied six top 10s and two top 5s.

“I think when it comes to picking talent, you come from a football background with the draft and everything. So, the most important thing we do is our people, and the people that you have on your team. So, for us really here, it always starts with character,” Joe Gibbs said. “You’re always looking at what kind of a person that you’re getting. The thing that’s different about our sport is that these guys have to represent companies. They represent us. They’re going to be in public.

“If you kind of see, the drivers have always really respected the drivers in NASCAR. Because you just don’t find people getting in trouble. It’s a very high standard. So that’s what always kind of we start with, and you’re looking at, because it’s so important. You just think about Bass Pro, and the fact that Chase will be representing them. So, it’s such a big deal for us.”
