In 2025, Justin Bonsignore is back with Joe Gibbs Racing. The four-time NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion got a new deal. JGR will put Bonsignore in the No. 19 car five times during the Xfinity Series season.

Justin Bonsignore has won all four of his modified championships between 2018 and 2024. Fresh off his fourth title and with 45 career wins, Bonsignore is trying to take that next step in his career.

Last season, Bonsignore was able to race at Daytona in the ARCA Menards Series. He also suited up for Joe Gibbs Racing in New Hampshire, finishing P22.

JGR made the news official today. Five attempts at making something happen in the Xfinity Series with Joe Gibbs? Bonsignore will be able to control his own destiny.

To claim his fourth championship, Justin Bonsignore went on a three-race win streak to close out the season. He won five races in total in 2024 in his modified car. He closed out the championship with wins at Thompson Speedway, North Wilkesboro, and Martinsville.

If I had to guess, Joe Gibbs Racing is going to put Bonsignore on tracks that he will have a high chance of success at. That means putting him on short tracks. Preferably, he would race at Richmond, Martinsville, and New Hampshire. Those are all tracks Bonsignore is familiar with and has won at in the Modified Tour.

I like this move a lot from JGR. Putting someone who has had so much success at the grassroots level into this position is good for the sport. Drivers who get results deserve better rides.

Joe Gibbs Racing puts young talent with established drivers

There is a lot going on at all levels for Joe Gibbs Racing in 2025. They have older drivers, young up-and-coming drivers, drivers new to their team, and drivers returning after a year away from JGR. A lot going on.

At the Xfinity Series level, we aren’t going to know the full roster until JGR gets done making announcements. For now, we know that they are going to have full-time drivers William Sawalich, Taylor Gray, and Brandon Jones in the Xfinity Series. Sawalich and Gray will be rookies.

Last season in the No. 19 car we saw Aric Almirola, Ryan Truex, Ty Gibbs, Taylor Gray, Josh Bilicki, Brett Moffitt, Justin Bonsignore, Joe Graf Jr., and William Sawalich. I would expect Almirola to be back and maybe even some races from Martin Truex Jr. now that he is retired from the Cup Series.

That doesn’t include the teenager Max Reaves that they are putting in ARCA East races this season, Chase Briscoe making his move to the No. 19 car in the Cup Series, or the crew chief carousel that Joe Gibbs Racing has done in the offseason. 2025 should be a lot of fun.
