Joe Haden announces retirement from NFL after 12 seasons
The former Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns star cornerback Joe Haden is calling it a career. The 12-year veteran of the game announced from his social media account on Wednesday that he intends to retire from professional football. Haden made the announcement on his Twitter with this video attached.
Haden was the Browns’ first-round pick in the 2010 NFL Draft out of Florida. With the Gators, he was a member of their 2008 national championship-winning team. Haden was also a first-team All-SEC recipient and a unanimous All-American in 2009.
Haden stayed with Cleveland for seven years from 2010-2016, made the Pro Bowl twice (2013, 2014), and was a second-team All-pro in 2013. His time with the Browns came to an end in the summer of 2017 as the team granted him his release as they began their rebuilding process. That off-season, he would commit the ultimate AFC North sin and play for the rival Steelers. Haden would play with the Steelers for five years and make one more Pro Bowl in 2019.

ESPN Adam Schefter reported earlier on Wednesday that Haden plans to sign a one-day contract to retire as a member of the Cleveland Browns.

Pittsburgh Steelers vs Cleveland Browns Wednesday injury report
Ahead of their Week 3 game with the Cleveland Browns on Thursday, the Pittsburgh Steelers have made their Wednesday injury report available. The Steelers are coming off just a three-day turnaround from playing the New England Patriots on Sunday, and are entering the Thursday night game with a nearly clean injury report.
Linebacker Devin Bush was originally the only player featured on the report, but was a full participant in the team’s actual practices beginning Tuesday. On Wednesday, safety Minkah Fitzpatrick joined the report after being limited in practice with leg cramps. The two injuries do not appear to be limiting in any way, and Pittsburgh should be able to play tomorrow night at full strength.
Before practices even began, Cleveland ruled out Jadeveon Clowney and Chase Winovich as well on their defensive line. As of Wednesday’s final practice of the week, Clowney is still the only player listed on the “Did Not Practice” list. Myles Garrett and guard Joel Bitonio are now elevated to “Limited” on the report. Also limited on Wednesday were tackles Jack Conklin and Chris Hubbard.
