Joe Mixon, Josh Johnson get into dustup ahead of Ravens vs. Texans Christmas game
Houston Texans running back Joe Mixon and Baltimore Ravens backup quarterback Josh Johnson didn’t provide the best example of the holiday spirit before a Christmas Day matchup.
The two players exchanged words that looked the opposite of cheerful as Johnson came up to Mixon and placed a hand on him. The moment occurred after Mixon became upset when Ravens punter Jordan Stout hit a Texans coach in the end zone with a warm up punt. You can view the altercation below.
Mixon is in his first season with the Texans after spending the first seven years of his NFL career with the Cincinnati Bengals. He has rushed for 967 yards and 11 touchdowns so far and can pass the 1,000-yard mark for the fifth time in his career Wednesday.
Johnson is a veteran journeyman who has spent most of his pro career as a backup. He played for the Bengals in 2013, but Mixon was not on the team at that point.
The Ravens have gotten off to a quick start in the game and currently hold a 10-0 lead with 2:47 remaining in the opening quarter. Mixon has so far carried the ball three times for eight yards.

Although the mixup between Josh Johnson and Joe Mixon provided some pregame intrigue, both players will look to put it behind them and get to work on helping their team to victory.
Chiefs clinch No. 1 seed in AFC, first-round bye with win over Steelers
The Kansas City Chiefs have clinched the No. 1 seed and a first-round bye in the playoffs after defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers 29-10 on Christmas Day. This means the Chiefs will need to win only two games in the playoffs to reach Super Bowl LIX which will be played in New Orleans on Feb. 9, 2025.
Kansas City has one more regular season game, a road contest against the Denver Broncos next weekend (official date has yet to be announced). The Chiefs will then have a bye before playing in the divisional round of the playoffs on either Jan. 18 or Jan. 19. They are looking to be the first team in NFL history to win three consecutive Super Bowls.
