Joel Klatt predicts fit between Cam Ward, Tennessee Titans

After a trade between No. 1 and No. 3, Joel Klatt has the Tennessee Titans making a match with Miami QB Cam Ward.
In the release of his first mock draft on his show on Wednesday, Klatt had the Titans trading with the Giants to move back two spots in the 2025 NFL Draft. Tennessee would then select Ward with the third pick to be the next option as their future quarterback.
“It’s Tennessee at three, okay, after they flip those picks – Giants go up to number one, now Tennessee at three. Again, this is going to be my last trade,” Klatt said. “But now, Tennessee – and this is why they were able to do it. They get Cam Ward.”
Much of Klatt’s opinion with this is he doesn’t believe Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders will want to be in Nashville. If that’s the case, the Titans trading down would allow them to still have a chance at one of the top-two quarterbacks in this draft while also adding whatever else would come in that projected deal with New York. However, it would also run the risk that Cleveland could decide to go quarterback if Ward were there at No. 2.
“If they can’t work something out with Shedeur Sanders – which, again, I just don’t think Shedeur Sanders is going to be willing to play in Tennessee with the history of what that organization has done from a quarterback-position standpoint. So, Tennessee can either take Cam Ward with number one or go back to three, still get Cam Ward, and get draft capital. Well, to me, that’s a no brainer, okay, so that’s why they’re moving back. They take Cam Ward
“If (Abdul) Carter was on the board, I think that they would have to think long and hard. Tennessee was bottom-five in sacks. But they need to get their quarterback. Will Levis just hasn’t worked out the last couple of years…I think, from Tennessee’s standpoint, they’re just going to be hopeful that Cleveland does go Abdul Carter, which, again, just fits because of the Myles Garrett issue.”
Ward is coming off his best collegiate season after transferring to play for the Hurricanes. He completed 67.2% of his throws for 4,313 yards, 39 touchdowns, and seven interceptions in being an All-American, ACC Player of the Year, and a finalist for The Heisman Trophy.

Again, Ward might not be there if Tennessee waits until No. 3. However, he certainly won’t be there much longer after that if the Titans don’t take him there considering the rest of the class and the other teams who also need quarterbacks.
“He’s, on my board, the second-best quarterback,” Klatt said. “I think that there’s quite a drop after those top two guys and you’ve got other teams sitting there, like Las Vegas, like the Jets potentially, that are going to be needing quarterback help. So you’ve got to grab him there.”
Tennessee has all options available to it with its pick at No. 1. That includes Ward as a possibility to be the Titans’ QB1.
“I really like Cam Ward a lot. I think that this guy is a talented player,” Klatt said. “Cam Ward fits.”
