Joey Bosa headlines Chargers Friday injury report vs. Carolina Panthers
The Los Angeles Chargers have issued game designations for Sunday’s Week 2 road contest against the Carolina Panthers. Star defensive end Joey Bosa is officially questionable to play after missing the last two practices with a back injury.
Bosa, the four-time Pro Bowler, first popped up on Wednesday’s injury report as a limited participant. Injuries have been an issue for Bosa, who played in just 14 games in 2022 and ’23. He logged 40 snaps in the Chargers’ 22-10 Week 1 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders, tallying seven tackles (six solo), one sack, a forced fumble and four quarterback pressures. Bosa earned a 91.4 overall grade from Pro Football Focus.
He was dominant in defending against the run, earning praise from head coach Jim Harbaugh.
“He is that player,” Harbaugh said, via Kris Rhim of ESPN. “Saw it in the production, in the tackles, in the hustle. He was great against the run and unblockable in the pass; a huge game.”
