After downing 62 hot dogs to win yet another Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest title, Joey Chestnut is looking to expand his resume. He wants to continue to break world records, even as he already owns 55, including for eating chicken wings, ribs, apple pies and even eggs.

On the Pat McAfee Show on Wednesday, the world-champion eater revealed to the hosts that he has a hankering for seafood next.

“I would love to do some more overseas stuff, I would love to get a sushi record, go to Alaska and do King Crab, Taco Bell, that’d be a fun one,” Chestnut said.

The Indiana native also offered McAfee the opportunity to host one of his eating challenges that would benefit a charity. Chestnut said he was spending the day “tearing up some toilets” around Manhattan as part of his recovery from the competition.

After downing the 62 dogs, 15 short of the record, Chestnut told reporters he still has an innate drive to keep pushing for new milestones.

“Oh my gosh, yes, I love to push myself. I’m getting older,” Chestnut said on Tuesday. “I’m 39. It’s great to be able to push for a new record and know that I can still push my body to new limits. Today, things got in the way, but I’ll be coming back.”

Chestnut was on a mission after a delay due to weather pushed the event back by two hours. There was a risk of cancellation but he pumped up the crowd and a few minutes later, the event moved forward.

“It wasn’t really me,” Chestnut said. “The crowd wasn’t leaving. The rain stopped and they were still chanting so, it was like, ‘we might as well do it here,’ the crowd was staying, they’re not going to leave.”

Joey Chestnut wins 16th Mustard Belt

Joey “Jaws” downed 62 hot dogs on Tuesday, winning his 16th Mustard Belt and taking the top prize in the event for an eighth-consecutive year. It’s just another major accomplishment for the greatest athl-eat we’ve ever seen.

It wasn’t a record-breaking performance for the eating champion, but he did win the event by a wide margin, eating 13 more hot dogs than anyone else in the field.

Even at age 39, Chestnut is showing no signs of slowing down. Now the question becomes, can he reach the milestone of winning 20 Mustard Belts in his lifetime? It almost feels inevitable after this year’s victory.

Although Chestnut said setting a new world record at 77 hot dogs was “doable” in a recent podcast appearance on Pardon My Take, he came up well short of that goal. Still, Joey “Jaws” chowed down on 62 hot dogs to win his 16th Mustard Belt.
