After Joey Logano wrecked at Pocono Raceway, he was less than happy. He let the safety crew folks hear about it as he sat on the track, too. Logano had flat tires on the track and didn’t want to drive out of fear he would damage his Ford Mustang further. Well, the NASCAR safety and tow truck crews didn’t have the same urgency as Logano.

Fans are always listening to radios and in-car cameras. You really can’t say anything without somebody hearing about it if you’re a driver. It would be silly to think that no one cusses on the track and that emotions don’t fly high when drivers wreck at high speeds.

Still, it was shocking and a little bit funny to hear Joey Logano let loose like this. All he wanted to do was get his car safely towed away, and it wasn’t happening.

NASCAR drivers are full of passion and they want to win no matter what. Joey Logano was showing off a bit of that passion with his rant here. I’m sure no one took what he said personally, and I can almost bet it isn’t the worst thing a driver has ever said to a safety crew member.

While Logano has to wait for this race to be over from the sidelines, he’s going to be fine. His Atlanta win earlier this season has him in the playoffs. He won Stage 1 ahead of the wreck at the start of Stage 2. His team has had speed in each of the last three weeks and will likely have speed moving forward.

Joey Logano wants to see tow truck policy change

Of course, once Joey Logano retired from this race, he had to go to the infield care center. Drivers involved in any incident on the track typically have to go to the care center. Afterward, he was interviewed and asked about what happened on that Stage 2 restart.

One thing is for sure, Logano would like to see some changes to the tow truck procedure. The truck came in and while it did what he asked, it also tore his Ford Mustang up some more.

While today didn’t go how he pictured, Logano has done well in the last six weeks or so. The defending champion might have what it takes to win another. Before that happens, it would be nice to see Logano pull off another win this regular season.

With or without Joey Logano, the show goes on. Stage 2 has just ended and we are heading for the final stage of the race at Pocono. It is about to get intense!
