It was an eventful day on the track at Darlington, but one driver was conspicuously quiet. That was Joey Logano, driver of the No. 22 car.

Logano finished P13 on the day, a respectable enough finish without ever really threatening to contend. But apparently he did so while ill.

According to a post from Five Wide Sports on Twitter, Logano “was sick all race and was immediately helped to the medical center post race.” A picture was included, seemingly showing Logano getting out of his fire suit.

Joey Logano currently sits in ninth in the NASCAR Cup Series point standings following the weekend at Darlington. He has 232 points, with 70 of those points earned from stage results.

Logano has had a really nice stretch of racing, though, after starting the season off with a dud at Daytona. He has had top-15 finishes in six of the last seven races, including a P8 finish just last week at Martinsville.

That has Joey Logano in the thick of contention in the Cup Series this year. Of course, once he’s past his illness, Logano will be looking for a win to lock himself into the playoffs rather than relying on points.

Joey Logano calls out Ross Chastain

It hasn’t been a completely uneventful season for Logano on the track. Just last week he went after Ross Chastain verbally for behavior on the track that he deemed unnecessary.

Rather, Joey Logano accused Chastain of driving like “a jackass.” The wreck occurred when Chastain attempted to block Chase Briscoe. Briscoe’s car ended up going up the track into Logano, who spun out.

Luckily for Joey Logano, he was able to collect himself and still finish in eighth place in the race. He just hasn’t quite had enough juice to win yet.
