Joey Logano rips 'jackass' Ross Chastain after No. 1 blocks, causes Martinsville wreck

Tell me if you heard this one before, Ross Chastain is making someone mad. Joey Logano is not happy with the Trackhouse driver. We all know just how hard Chastain can be to pass on NASCAR short tracks, and it can’t be fun to compete against him when his elbows are up and he’s looking to pass cars.
Joey Logano is having a tough final stage after being great all afternoon. Another familiar story, at least in 2025. Logano has led the most laps this season coming into Martinsville and has yet to record a top-10 finish.
Chastain put a block on Chase Briscoe, which was totally fair. It caused the inside line to stack up, though. Briscoe’s car went up the track and into Logano and from there the 22 spun out.
Here is the wreck via Steven Taranto of CBS Sports. Tough situation, honestly.
Afterward, Joey Logano went OFF on the radio. He has had enough of Ross Chastain. It’s only Week 7, folks.
“That guy’s a jackass,” Logano said. “He just asks for it doing that stuff, y’know? Like, jeez.”
Joey Logano has definitely had his struggles this season. Getting into little dustups like this is not going to help him shake that off.

Joey Logano rallies back for first top-10 of NASCAR season
For the first time this NASCAR Cup Series season, Joey Logano has earned a top-10 finish. Following his spat with Ross Chastain, he won’t even be able to enjoy that finish. Because he knows he could have had more.
This isn’t the first time we have seen Ross make a driver upset. His racing style lends itself to that kind of thing. Today, it was too much for Logano and he even carried that over to the postrace on pit road.
Still, this is a good day for the 22 team. They needed SOMETHING to get them back in the positive direction. That something was this run today. From qualifying to the race, Logano and his team were solid the entire weekend. And they didn’t have any battery failures like Josh Berry and Austin Cindric.
Joey Logano is going to have more to say about Ross Chastain. Is it deserved or is this Chastain’s bad reputation making a small issue into a bigger one?
