Joey Logano speaks out about pit road wreck with Josh Berry at Homestead

Joey Logano opened up about the wreck he had with Josh Berry on pit road at the NASCAR Cup Series Homestead-Miami race on Sunday. On SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, Logano explained how the wreck happened.
“We wrecked on pit road,” Logano said. “Josh and I were talking about it, I was like ‘I don’t know what either one of us really could have done much different.’ It’s a very narrow pit road. …Some of these places where you have wrecks on pit road a lot because there is no room. …You can’t ditch off into the grass. It just becomes really tight. That’s what happened there. We just ran out of space.”
The wreck happened before the start of Stage 2. Logano had significant damage and had to make another pit stop to repair his car. The two-time Cup Series champion earned a P14 finish, while Berry, who was running up front at the start of the race, finished 17th.
Joey Logano is not having a strong start to the 2025 season
It was another tough day for Joey Logano, who finished outside the top 10 again. He has not had a top-10 finish this season, but it’s nothing new for him, as he only had one top-10 finish at this point last year. As the 2024 season progressed, Logano won two races in the regular season and two more in the playoffs, including the championship race.

But can Joey Logano win his third Cup Series title this year? “Well I mean the bottom line is that the goal never changes. The goal is to win the championship, whether you won last year or not,” Joey Logano told the FOX Sports broadcasting crew ahead of the race at Bowman Gray in February. “But the big thing is just fighting complacency and being OK with what happened.
“You’ve got to remember what you did last year will not be good enough to win this year. So just always constantly looking for improvement and keeping everybody on their game, right, because that’s over. As great as that moment was — and it’s fun to watch it, believe me, it’s really fun just to watch that — it’s over and we’ve got to do it all again. The scoreboards reset back to zero.”
