Joey Logano unleashes on Austin Dillon after ‘chickenshit’ overtime wreck at Richmond
Joey Logano did not hold back when asked about Austin Dillon wrecking him during the final lap of the Richmond Cup Series race on Sunday. When speaking to NBC Sports after the race, Logano said it was “chickenshit” for Dillon to bump him and prevent him from getting the overtime victory.
“It’s chickenshit, no doubt about it,” Logano said. “He’s four-car lengths back, not even close. Then he wrecks the 11… And then he’s going to go up there and thank God and praise everything with his baby. It’s a bunch of BS, it’s not even close. I mean, I get it, bump-and-run, I get it. I didn’t back up the corner at all, he came in there and just drove through me. It’s ridiculous that’s the way we race. Unbelievable.
“I get bump-and-runs, I do that, I would expect it. But from four-car lengths back he was never going to make the corner. And then he wrecks the 11 to go with it. What a piece of crap.”
And when Logano was asked how he would race Dillon going forward, Logano replied, “Wait and see.” Logano was leading the race after a restart and was poised to earn his second victory of the year. But with Dillon hitting him during the final lap, the two-time Cup Series champion finished 19th on Sunday. Logano and Dillon are in the playoffs, meaning that the two could go after each other for the rest of the year.

Joey Logano continues to sound off on Austin Dillon
The interesting about all this is Dillon’s team urged him to wreck Logano. “I don’t care how you do it,” the crew said before he hit Logano. And then, “Wreck him! Wreck him!” before he hit Hamlin.
“No, when you get that far ahead, three four car lengths ahead in three. I didn’t back up the entry, I was like, ‘I’ll just wrap the bottom here, I’m good.’ And he just drives in so hard,” Logano said while speaking to reporters. “Obviously, he didn’t make the turn because he hit me and the 11 was going to win the race. So, he had no intention to race. I beat him fair and square on the restart and he just pulled a chickenshit move. He’s a piece of crap, he sucks. He’s sucked his whole career, and now he’s going to be in the playoffs and good for him, I guess.”
